BORDERPLEX HOT JOBS

The Texas Workforce Commission Borderplex publishes a yearly report where they evaluate and analyze the current landscape of jobs in the Borderplex.  The criteria that they use to classify a job as a “Hot Job” are the following criteria:

• Pay a $17.24 Living Wage (FY 2024)

• Have more than 20 annual openings

• Have a projected industry growth of 10% or more

CTE education has been providing an important opportunity for Texas students to expand opportunities to explore, choose, and follow career goals through the varied programs across the state of Texas.  Students are given the opportunity to study a career pathway and earn credentials of value known as Industry Based Certifications (IBCs).
